Most KD tracks are hard to classify. Most are emotionally complex. All tell a story, or evoke an image, or set a mood, and sometimes do all three at the same time. Lead composer Ed Grenga and his partner Doug Stevens have drawn on their years of experience in film, documentary, and TV to put together a library that will make your project come alive.
This library is categorized a little differently than most others. Instead of the typical genres- Rock, Jazz, Orchestral, etc. it’s more about the vibe and mood, or what kind of imagery the music evokes. Being storytellers ourselves, we tend to imagine the kind of story we’re telling each time we sit down and immerse ourselves into a new composition. The result is music that’s rich with color, imagery, and emotion.
The way to get the most out of this library is to deeply explore the alternate mixes and stems. Most of the titles were composed as big themes, but using the stems allow you to create custom-sounding scores. Most of the stems stand on their own as cues, and the rest are meant to be elements which can be broken up and peppered into and out of scenes, allowing you to build slowly to the main theme, or just have a common thread throughout the program without sounding repetitive.
